article link: http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/buffalo-public-schools/condom-availability-weighed-for-high-schools-20141001

Summary/Opinion: The Buffalo city public school decided to give out condoms in high school. This decision is comes from the uncomfortable data that 44% of students have had sex but 35% of the students among who are sexually active, didn’t use condoms. actually condoms already been available for students who are enrolled in school health programs, but the district is now considering an expanded. So they are going to reach out to the stakeholders and listen to the opinions.

I had a debate with this Topic at last class. My view was against with giving out condoms in highschool. But This situation is quite different with our topic that had debate the other day. out topic was giving out condoms in korean high school. anyway it was impressive that This topic is pretty hot in US. I wonder when It will be big issued in Korea though.

Anyway , I am still against with giving out condoms for free in highschool in Buffalo either. The distrit said they decied from the shocking survey, but you should be clear with the essential reason. They said in the article they had an alcohol or used drug before they had sex. From this, I don’t think they didn’t used condoms because of ” not having condoms for free from school”. They didn’t use condoms because They had impromptu sex without responsibility. What students really need is the education about having responsibility in having safe sexul activity.

Summary/opinion: The study found that the cost of obesity  is bigger than armed conflicts and smoking. Costing the country nearly £47bn a year, It is the major global economic problem. and It is generating an annual loss equivalent to 3% of the GDP.There should be over 44 interventions to bring back the obesity rate to normal. The costs are from not just being fat. It is because obesity brings the disease that come along with like diabetes. £638m a year on obesity prevention programmes – about 1% of the social cost, the study finds. But the country spends about £6bn a year on the medical costs of conditions related to being overweight or obese and a further £10 billion on diabetes. This is why obesity is regarded to economic problem.

I am surprised that the loss from obesity takes that bigger, even a lot than smoking. This study was from UK, but I think Korea could also be in this situation pretty soon. For nation health and the nation economy, we should aware about our health.
